Day Time Meditation - Eternal Life

The following meditation is based upon the Essenes' teachings... the daily meditations or communions are designed to be used morning and evening in addition to the noon practice called the Sevenfold Peace. At the beginning of each meditation, the following prologue is recited:

"I enter the spaciousness of this timeless and infinite Garden with reverence to the Source and Energy of Life, to the Earth and all its fullness, to the spiritual teachers of all traditions, to the liberating purity of truth, and with reverence to all who courageously walk the Path of Spirit..."

You are encouraged to spend time sitting with the following statement before continuing to read.

"Essence of Eternal Life, fill me with the Presence of this moment and the spaciousness of your Loving Spirit."

Help me to see the timelessness within and beyond our structures of time...

Expand my awareness to the infinite openness of now.

Assist me to let go of old concepts and ideas that no longer serve my highest and deepest journey...

Let me rest in trust of this eternal moment of Life and Love...

When I 'fell' in love with another person, it felt so limitless and like it would never end... and that is the perhaps the closest we come in an egoic state to experience the oneness of Source Love and its eternal quality... Indeed, the timeless quality of true Love fools the ego into assumptions that two people will remain in that timeless energy and feeling forever.

The deepest Source of Life is timeless and beyond the confines of time. As we open to this energy beyond time, it does go on forever, whether we are conscious of it or not. The work of opening to this timeless eternity that Life presents is the evolving dance of lifetimes. The Essenes saw this as our purpose of being human...

The Essenes considered that the purpose of the universe can only be eternal life, immortality; and that this can be achieved by us if we progressively create the preconditions of our advance to higher and higher degrees of our individual evolution. We might call this personal self-actualization and spiritual synthesis or enlightenment. They held that there was no limit to this progress since the cosmos is an in­exhaustible store of energies available to us as we perfect our receptive organs and centers.

Through this communion-meditation we stimulate and open our intu­itive knowledge of the timeless quality of life in the universe and our own unity with the timeless present moment as well as the whole cosmic order. Through it we can learn the importance of over­coming gravity in the earthly currents of thought and become conscious of the new or spiritual currents' activity and role in the individual's and the planet's evolution.

This overcoming of weighty negative energy and absorbing and utilizing the multi-dimensional currents was perhaps the highest mystical accomplishment of the Essenes.

"Energy and Essence of Ever-present Life and Love, fill us with your Presence in this moment with the eternal quality of your Loving Spirit."
