Same Tribe - Different Tribe - One Tribe

Same Tribe...
In the Medicine Walk Runes there is one rune that symbolizes "Same Tribe" and one that symbolizes "Different Tribe"...
In the largest picture, there is but One Tribe... and in our current life circumstances there is both duality and difference...
We are born into our genetic tribe and grow in our social tribe within the milieu of the cultural and collective tribal energies... so, what do "Same Tribe" and "Different Tribe" refer to?
My sense is that we are on our path in a very specific way with some definite purpose for our being here at this time in history. "Same Tribe" means, for me, those souls who are kindred 'spirits' at the soul journey level of consciousness... perhaps the spiritual energies are fairly compatible and there is purpose to be teamed together... We usually sense, deep within when we are with "soul cluster mates"... and there will usually be ego and life interpretation differences...at least for now...
"Same Tribe" members seem to recognize one another and are brought together by the simpatico energetic dynamics of the Universe... and drawn to one another by our inner and higher guides and guidance...
"Different Tribe" people we encounter and perhaps have lived with may be genetic relatives or even friends and coworkers whom are at a different place in their soul journey and purpose... while we are all One Family at some level...and we are all related... some are brought into our lives to help us learn new lessons... all are forms of angels... and all is "grist for the mill" to help us in our personal development and spiritual unfoldment... Many of us, while loving our genetic relatives, knew early on that we were not of that tribe... and had entered that situation perhaps to provide the impetus to move into the world of 3-D Planet earth on a more independent path...
Hopefully we all are supportive and encouraging of each other's growth path and remembering who we are at our deepest Essence...
Love and blessings to ALL! ...John

Miracles of Participation... a reminder...

Greetings...

One evening while talking with a friend about Life and our spiritual journey, I heard the words come out of my mouth> "we are miracles of participation..." that indeed Life itself is a miracle  and we are privileged to be a part of all  that is... indeed it is not individuals breathing the air of life... it is the Universe breathing all... I was reminded of this when I read the following quote by Eckhart Tolle:

"You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle."

Love and Blessings to you....John

Managing our "Painbody" [Eckhart Tolle]

Managing the Painbody...
by Eckhart Tolle [ http://communicate.eckharttolle.com/news/?p=439 ]
"There is such a thing as old emotional pain living inside you. It is an accumulation of painful life experience that was not fully faced and accepted in the moment it arose. It leaves behind an energy form of emotional pain. It comes together with other energy forms from other instances, and so after some years you have a "painbody", an energy entity consisting of old emotion.
It lives in human beings, and it is the emotional aspect of egoic consciousness. When the ego is amplified by the emotion of the painbody, the ego has enormous strength still - particularly at those times. It requires very great presence so that you can be there as the space also for your painbody, when it arises.
That is everybody's job here - to be there, to recognize the painbody when it shifts from dormant to active, when something triggers a very strong emotional reaction. At that moment, when it does take over your mind, the internal dialogue, which is dysfunctional at the best of times, now becomes the voice of the painbody talking to you internally. Everything it says is deeply colored by the old, painful emotion of the painbody. Every interpretation, everything it says, every judgment about your life, about other people, about a situation you are in - will be totally distorted by the old emotional pain.
If you are not there as the space for it, you are identified with the painbody and you believe every negative thought that it is telling you. If you are alone, the painbody will feed on every negative thought that arises, and get more energy. That's why it's become active - after it does that for a while, you can't stop thinking, at night, or whenever it is. The painbody is feeding, and after a few hours, it's had enough. You feel a little depleted. And then it happens again a few weeks later, or few days later.
The painbody would feel even better if it could feed on somebody else's reaction. Your partner would be a favorite person. And it will, if there is somebody around, or family situations. Our painbodies love families. And it will just provoke this person, your partner or whoever it is. The painbody knows exactly what the thing is that will trigger a negative response. Then it says the thing that is going to really hurt you. And of course, if you are not absolutely present in that moment, then immediately you will react. And the painbody loves it! Give me more drama, please!
Both painbodies are now awake, and feeding on each other. Then, a few hours later, or the next day, the painbodies no longer need it. They are full, they have replenished themselves. And you can look at each other and say, "What was that all about?" In some cases, you may not even remember how it all started. This huge drama started somewhere, and then one thing led to another. Wasn't it the same two weeks ago?
Can we be present and see if next time we can catch it at its early stage, so that we don't get drawn in totally? Can we both endeavor to be present for each other, and for ourselves? See if we can see the first signs of the painbody - either in ourselves, or in the other. Immediately realize it, be the space for it, and if possible - even voice it to your partner and say "My painbody got triggered when you said that".
Often, little situations trigger enormous reactions. Be there, present for it. Your partner will find it easier to see it in you, and you will find it easier to see it in them. Whether or not you can tell your partner that his or her painbody has become activated depends on the degree to which your partner has already been taken over by it. If you catch it at a very early stage, then some remnant of Consciousness will still be there in your partner and that remnant will be hearing you when you say, "Could that be your painbody?" It has to be phrased very carefully. You may want to add, "Do you remember our agreement?"
If there is still a remnant of Consciousness then that will be listening to you, and your partner will be able to be there as the space for his or her painbody. If there is no remnant of Consciousness in your partner, you will be talking to the painbody, and the painbody does not like to hear about the painbody. Of course, it will deny any such thing. "My painbody? Look at yours!"
So, what do you do? Can I be the space for that? While the partner is there, be the space for that. When you are the space for something, it does not necessarily mean that you have to stay there. You can be the space, and then remove yourself. Self observation - this is why being in the body is an important part of this. Feel the inner body as often as you can. When an old emotion arises, it will be easier to be present as it arises.
If you are present, the painbody cannot feed anymore on your thoughts, or on other people's reactions. You can simply observe it, and be the witness, be the space for it. Then gradually, its energy will decrease."

Hawk and Eagle

Hawk and Eagle Energies
Hawk and Eagle energies signal very similar things and remind us to trust Great Spirit... The differences are slight and also significant...
When HAWK flies into your vision or appears in a Medicine Walk Rune Reading, the Seminole tribe sensed that it was a signal of the embodiment of Spirit in our physical world. Hawk appears to say to us: "Great Spirit will be directly involved in a physical way with the outcome of the issue at hand."

When EAGLE appears in a Medicine Walk Rune Reading or flies into your vision, it means that the answer to the issue or situation we face will be found in Spiritual pursuits. The Eagle is a messenger of our prayers to Great Spirit. We are being told to take the issue to Great Spirit.

"Pray without ceasing..."

"Pray without ceasing"
"Pray without ceasing" was an urging from an early Christian leader to the people he was addressing. We might adopt this for our time as well, no matter what our spiritual perspective happens to be.
Here's what it means to me in this day and age... of 2012 and beyond...
Rumi has said in translation, "Once you wake up, do not go back to sleep." Once we wake up to the larger picture of an inclusive and connecting Life Energy, we will never forget it... yet we sometimes get a bit drowsy and negative thinking creates doubts. We fall into trances of seemingly being 'lost' and 'asleep' again... but there is a difference, since we have the memory of wakefulness somewhere within us... we have the feeling of home-sickness that calls to us from deep within our soul...
As we wake...let us do our best to stay awake... let us be mindful of the larger picture and connection...let us "pray without ceasing"...
Praying suggests a communication with 'God' or the ever-present Life Energy and Source out of which all form emerges. We are urged to stay tuned in and keep the communication lines open to the One Source of all Life.
"Without ceasing" means to me to remain awake, aware, and alert. I means to live life fully and as authentically as possible, no matter what our spiritual practice or life philosophy.
We tune our energies to the higher frequencies of Unconditional Love, Acceptance, and Inclusion and walk with a Respect for All of Life, including those who may hold different thoughts for whatever reason. "Pray" is a call to focus with our spiritual sight and heart... to commune with the totality of Being... A reminder to us... not to ask for things from an overindulgent sky parent, but to open our hearts and minds and our whole being to the One Source that really counts... with a grateful heart each and every moment... "without ceasing"...
So, with apologies to St. Paul of the Christian tradition, who in another time and place perhaps may have been referring to some different theological concept of who 'God' was/is, shared this 'admonition' to his readers: "Pray without ceasing." I echo his words as a reminder to myself and to all who may have similar wishes to stay awake... "do not go back to sleep."
I would urge us all to walk through each day with a mindful awareness and in that sense to pray, not with clasped hands, but with open arms embracing Life, without ceasing...

About climbing your mountain...

Thanks to our friend Mary Ann for sharing this beautifully written little story by Catherine Ryan Hyde....

Catherine Ryan Hyde

Catherine is the bestselling author of 18 books including Pay It Forward, Becoming Chloe, Love in the Present Tense, and Chasing Windmills.
"If today were my last day on Earth and I could share 500 words of brilliance with the world, here are the important things I'd want to pass along to others...

There's a little mountain in a state park near my home. It gains about 1,500 feet in two miles. So, four miles round trip. About two hours out of my life, not counting the drive. Even if you wouldn't take this hike today you can probably accept that you could work up to it.

I'd estimate that in the past eight years I've climbed this one little mountain 40 times. I've done lots of other mountains. More dramatic ones. Mt. Katahdin in Maine. The Grand Canyon, rim-to-river and back. Half Dome. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. But I'm putting the others aside for this illustration. I'm just concentrating on 40 trips up that one 1,500-foot mountain. The cumulative elevation is the equivalent of hiking from sea level to the top of Mount Everest. Twice.

If you had asked me eight years ago if I could climb as high as two Mount Everests, I would have said, "Of course not. No one can." But I could, and I did. It just took me eight years to do it.

It sometimes seems that we-both as individuals and as a society-don't put enough value on gradual, deliberate progress. In my opinion it's how most genuine human progress is made: very slowly, one step at a time.

When we say we can't do something, we really mean we can't do it right now. Better to do it over the course of eight years than not at all.

When we say we can't change the world, we really mean we can't change it completely. Better to change it a little than not even to try.

We want to leap, or fly, to the top of the mountain, but we almost never can. But we can get there, if we want it badly enough. It just involves thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, of small steps.

Here's something I find helpful: I try to avoid the very human temptation to keep looking up at the summit, gauging its distance. That sets off a torrent of negative internal voices.

Instead I try to return my focus to the current step. The summit is almost always overwhelming. The next step almost never is. So I take the step. Then I take another. And another.

And when I do stop to gauge my progress, I don't look up. I turn around and look behind me. At how high I've already climbed. That sets off a very different internal dialogue. It's amazing how those little steps add up.

Next time you feel overwhelmed by the sheer height of a figurative mountain, try coming back into the moment. Don't look up. Just take the step in front of you, and the one after that, and the one after that. When you do finally turn and look back at where you started, I think you'll be amazed at how high you've climbed. "
