“What touches your heart?”

Recently, I asked for topics for a creative writing exercise on which I had embarked. A Facebook friend responded, “What touches your heart?”

I answered, “That comes easy, M…  ... the question wasn't so much looking for something to write about... there are infinite numbers of things to focus on... it was more of a challenge to myself and you... to see what comes up for me when responding to something picked by others...”

Later, I began considering, “What touches my heart?”

I love to hear and experience music… and get chills and all emotional when young artists on shows like “The Voice” and “American Idol” really connect with a song and have the talent to deliver a soulful performance… It seems that at times, a musician/artist simply becomes the instrument of expression... all the greats seem to be able set aside ego and allow themselves to become an instrument for something larger than themselves.

To me this is the essence of the expression of Life’s spirit… the energy of life expressing itself in the world through a unique human being… a stained glass window allowing the light from Source to flow through into the communal room we share.

I try to do this in my own creative forms… sometimes in visual art, sometimes in writing, sometimes in other ways, work, and projects. Another topic that is important to me is to watch the internal process of the psyche and do my best to put those dynamics into symbols that connect with others. Hoping, I suppose, to help us understand and support our Life experience, our personal and spiritual growth, and our ongoing journey toward more conscious and satisfying living.

My heart opens to that which is life enhancing and embraces the One Living Spirit that is Life. I call this “spirituality.”

My own journey has found me in moments of flow in the synchronous zone of Life’s Energy in which I have been guided and helped guide others, whatever the role or title might have been. It seems that I have often identified as a transition guide or coach. Since we all need to live in a world in motion with change being a constant, I am glad when I can be of assistance to all who need help with the transition he or she is going through at any particular time.

Change continues to happen at all times and in any location. Understanding there are certain dynamics of change helps to provide a larger context in which to be more accepting of the shifts that are happening.

So, “What touches my heart?” To affirm the Life Energy that chooses to flow through this ‘John form’ and to help, guide, coach others in the transitions that are Life. Some people call Life Energy “God” or “Spirit”… with various religions and languages each having their own expression of our Life or Source Energy…   I choose to stay away from the theologies and doctrines of the past with their projections of “men” onto a “sky beings” … I tend to embrace the Present moment as the only time we have… at least the most important moment that is… and know I have experienced guidance from the higher realms of consciousness that exists at all times…here and now… The inclusive reality of Source and Life Energy is present in every Now.

Some musings about "God"...

Some musings about “God”…

I suppose it is presumptuous to even use the word “God” in some ways… most mystical teachings as well as institutional religions tend to have some word or symbol for “God.”

All religions have their teachings and their doctrines about the nature and characteristics of “God”… and all atheists have their defined beliefs about who “God” is not.

To many, the sense of the spiritual and essence of Life is in the beingness and oneness that is sensed in a natural setting… and “God” in this sense can be considered the largest and all inclusive form of this beingness… the source of Life… the Spirit of Life Energy.

When we sense this essence of the spiritual, it comes in many forms and thoughts and feelings to each person… Indeed there is something to be said for the Great Mystery of Life. For once we pronounce our ideas and experiences and beliefs about this “God,” we must by the inherent nature of who we are, impose our subjective interpretation.

It may perhaps be much easier to say what “God” is not… and in so doing we will surely offend someone since their own concepts and beliefs may assume “God” to be what others have decided “God” is not.

Many of us can at least agree that there is much more going on than what our mental constructs and beliefs might conceive or imagine.

Paranormal and psychic phenomena have shown that consciousness extends beyond the constructs of our personal or egoic conscious mind.

Much in science points to the essence of the physical world being energy, frequencies, and the transforming of energy. Some have described this Life Energy as Spirit… In this sense, “God” may then be considered the mysterious Source of all this transforming energy.  We surely get into trouble if we try to define the direction that "Source" will move this energy or pretend we know the outcome.

In many ways it is at least useful to understand the movement of Life Energy in the world as a co-creative process. We see many decisions made on varying beliefs as to the best direction to take. We see it in political parties, in various religious movements, in most councils and committees. People have differing ideas, wants, desires, goals, and needs.

I have been schooled both informally and formally in aspects of the Christian religion. Yet, I do not specifically refer to my beliefs as “Christian.” At best we can find some words, ideas, or teachings that we agree with and apply them to our lives. I might say that I agree with the teachings of Jesus, but that is also understood in the context of realizing the teachings of one man where transcribed my others and ultimately by an institution which was far different perhaps than what Jesus actually had in mind.

I doubt that Jesus actually ever intended there to be “Christians” in the world… but rather folks who did their best to love and serve others… Energy-work and hands-on healing has been around a long time and I suppose Jesus was quite good at it according to the reports we received, as was true of many spiritual teachers across the ages.

Jesus, it is suggested, spoke of the kingdom being present… and for me this can be understood as the perfect combination of compassion in this moment. For the quality of Love is timeless and the present moment is quite different than the concrete mental structures attributed to time. The future and the past exist because our mind can create them. Yet the miracle of life exists in the present moment.

Most modern and mystical teachers from various backgrounds seem to come to the importance of Life in the present… Not this month or this day… but this moment… the essential Now…

It is in this moment that the Essence of the Living Spirit can be sensed and felt. It is in this moment that decisions can be made… It is in this moment that we can choose to respond and act... It is in this moment we can open and listen... It is in this moment we receive answers from the "unknown"...

Herein lies the mystery of Life… we co-create with Life in this moment…

Of course we make our choices based on values either absorbed from our environment or consciously chosen by our own search, learning, and life experience. Values of kindness and love are properly best taught through example and words. And so we co-create the next moment from the past moments… and it happens here, right now, in this moment…

If we continue to use our mental energy to replay the past, we deprive ourselves of living in the present. Of course, there are times when we are unconsciously controlled by our past and this may take some work, counseling, letting go, forgiveness, and or acceptance in order to heal the past and return home to Now… to the present moment…

Likewise, if we live in fear about the future, or obsess over trying to control the future or avoid certain things in the future, we are also lost from being at home in the present moment…

The past was… the future will be… and the present moment In and outside of time bring the “kingdom of God” to earth in the practicality of Now… It is now, when we chose to be kind... It is in the Now, we Love...

So, these are a few musings about "God" and Life... I truly believe and have experienced that when we have a need, we shall find guidance… not ahead of time, but rather as we need to know… in this co-creating process in which the Oneness and Source of Life is always and ever present… To me this is the essence of “God” and Life Energy…

With Blessings and Love to All...

The Blinking Cursor...

The blinking cursor shows me where I am on the page.
It signifies the Nowness of Now.
It alerts me that I am here, Now.
As the symbols and concepts enter the page, the Now-point indicator moves onward.
So it is in Life.

Once we create a concept or express ourselves trying to capture a moment, the moment is gone.
It seems that all teachings and worldviews are part of ego’s content past on by previous expressions of consciousness.

They are rooted in some experience in the past.

When we accept or identify with those concepts that become beliefs and worldviews, we crucify the reality of Now and rob ourselves of discovery of the Presence of Now.

Christians base their beliefs on what is suggested was the experience and teachings of a man from Nazareth. He seemed to have a direct experience of the fullness of Life… of the spirit of Life Energy. He has had quite an influence on the lives of others. Egoic structures have tried to capture that experience in institutions and teachings. While these teachings may point to that which is beyond the words and symbols, an identity and dependence on the experience of others is never the real thing it seems. The need of ego for identifying and attaching to ideas and things and people and anything is neither right nor wrong, rather a simple truth about the dynamics and workings of our human psyche. Once we become identified with thoughts within the natural working of the egoic mind, we will then most likely interpret and filter our experience through that particular world view, be it collective or personal mindset. A set mind is an egoic mind.

Buddhists and any other defined set of teaching may find the same dynamics to be true. The experience of the Buddha is interpreted in the teachings and the concepts can keep us egoically grounded in mental routine.

It seems the most practical approaches if the teachings of any spiritual tradition are to succeed in their goal is to provide others with the process and practical procedures and techniques to the experience. Breakthroughs in consciousness and expansion of consciousness occur in an infinite number of ways. Practice and ‘theory’ are both helpful at various levels. Identification with any one method can be an egoic trap.

Perhaps the most accurate guidance I have found in my experience is that the answers are found within… in our personal process and an awareness of our consciousness outside the contents of the mind.

We can read the teachers of religion and philosophy to see what their experience taught them in their day. And we must also see how those words are verified or not within our experiential understanding of Life Energy. For instance, the French philosopher and author, Descartes, considered by some to be the “Father of Modern Philosophy” or perhaps now more accurately stated,”of Rationalism,” has been often quoted for his dictum: “I think, therefore I am.” At one point in our experience, that may have made perfect sense. Yet there seems something quite backward in that pronouncement which places thinking as the penultimate aspect of human existence. In fact, some, myself included, see it as the reverse… “I am, therefore I think.”

The penultimate in experience has been given the ‘label’: “I am” which signifies the basic experience of being. All else can be seen as content and structural dynamics of the human ego.

And the blinking cursor moves on within the page.

I am reminded that these words only point to this moment of now and are mere concepts that may jog the egoic mind in a particular direction that is in alignment with one person’s experience.

I must say that I have read much of works by eastern and western spiritual teachers, psychologies, and some philosophy. And in all of these there have moments of insight and expansion.

In Psychosynthesis, there is the attempt to bring the theory and practice together, as in many transpersonal schools of psychologies, in ways that focus on discovering our inner process and the expansion of our awareness toward more inclusive and satisfying living. The psychosynthesis approach is to use whatever methods and practices are appropriate for the person seeking guidance, no matter what school or theoretical roots it may have emerged through.

In Jungian studies, there is the useful emphasis that what remains unconscious tends to control us. This points to need for personal growth and awareness through dreamwork association, and collective archetypes.

Guided and spontaneous imagery, along with dreamwork help us to see pictures of the psyche’s dynamics that are somewhat beyond the ego’s structure or control.

And the blinking cursor moves on and brings us again to this moment.

All that I share is with a sense of helping to give us a broad framework or map of the dynamics of Life Energy that points back to this present moment.

When we look at the thoughts that keep us trapped in endless spirals of regret, negativity, guilt, grief and other thought loops that can prevent us from living more fully in the present, we may discover that they are rooted in what has happened in the past. Most of counseling and spiritual healing importantly looks at these areas. It can be important to express what was trapped in our bodies memory banks. And in order to be more present in the now, I have found it is a necessary step to let go of what was…sometimes through releasing its emotional grip, sometimes through forgiveness of self and others, and always involving some sort of acceptance of what ‘was’…our past experiences.  Then we develop strategies to shift our thought processes so when the focus goes back to the past, we can let go again and return to this present moment.

There are many forms of described meditation and practices. Becoming the aware observer of our experience, including sensitivity to the Life Energy within our body in the present moment is a good way that works for me. Usually whenever we are able to pop into the moment of awareness, we somewhat flip the ego projections and smile or laugh at our human experience and how easily our egoic mental gymnastics can control our feelings and thinking and actions.

There is that blinking cursor again… and I am reminded that there is always more… and we are always more than we ‘think’ we are…

One brief word about the future... It’s not now. All that applies to the past applies similarly to focus and identifying with the future. Nothing right or wrong with planning and having goals… it helps move us in a direction… It is best if the captain of our ship is as clear of the memories of the past or fogginess of the future as possible. Fear or Hope can both be distractions from being aware of what is in front of us right Now…

So let the blinking cursor on the writing page be a symbol of staying present and enjoying the depth of Being that we are…

“What’s Love Got To Do With It?”

October 22, 2012

“What’s Love Got To Do With It?”

by John Hutchinson

“A life without love is a waste. ‘Should I look for spiritual love, or material, or physical love?’… Don’t ask yourself this question…  Discrimination leads to discrimination. Love doesn’t need any name, category or definition. Love is a world itself. Either you are in, at the center …or you are out, yearning.”  ~ Shams Tabrizi

How is it that sometimes we touch Love’s center, or perhaps better said, we feel the oneness of Love’s center in all things… and at other times we are off-center, in a space of yearning, which can lead to “looking for Love in all the wrong places”… looking to others to provide love to us?

Love that expects something in return is most likely a need and desire within our psyche that is not really love. The inner child always wants to be loved. A part of us always wants to be loved. But what is that desire? Could it be a longing or homesick feeling for the true self and Love Center that is our connection with Source, with God, with Primary Life Energy?

We can experience Love in a spiritual or transcendent sense which lifts us to a place of self acceptance… to a sense of ‘okayness’ within. This energy of Love may come through any number of different ways. There are few words to describe this expansion of heart energy. And how do so many become seemingly detached from this primary life energy source? I suspect in some ways it is domesticated out of us in the process and demands of surviving in our environments.

As newborns we show up and are emotionally open and vulnerable to the actions and energies of those to whom we are dependent for survival. The quality of Love a newborn receives from others is dependent on the degree to which the caregivers are centered in Love or lost in their own pain-bodies from their own past experience. So, we can see how it is complex from our first breath. And from day one our personality is affected through our environment and mixes with the predispositions we bring with us through genetics and whatever other factors may be involved. Certainly from a spiritual perspective we can suggest that there may be some pre-birth contracts, purposes, or plans that we bring with us when we enter this 3rd dimension in physical form.

What if, before birth, we also were one with the Love Center of Life’s Source, whatever we may call that or however we may wish to imagine it. It must be quite a shock to show up in the chaos that often surrounds the birth experience after being in the Universal Love Center, even before womb-time. I realize this is all speculation, even though some declare it as more than that.

Now, let us suppose we flash forward several decades or so and we find ourselves in various types of relationships. We connect naturally through family, through work, through interests, through school, through social events, and by happenstance, or as some would say, synchronicity.

So there are many different types of relationships. When we look at the relationships between people who wish to be partners we also find different reasons and rhythms of attraction and connection. At one level, two people may connect for a physical relationship, simply to enjoy the pleasures of our human body. Some people may also connect at a certain stage in life to form and generate a family within the social norms and expectations and through their own want or need to do so.

From a psycho-spiritual perspective, partners may be attracted to one another for different reasons:
  • Attracted through physical appearances;
  • Attracted due to similar interests, values, ideas;
  • Attracted by personality type, sometimes similar, sometime opposite;
  • Attracted to another’s aura or energy;
  • Attracted through chemistry… sensual and sexual energies;
  • Attracted to material life situation, successes, finances, accomplishments, possessions;
  • Attracted to a shared sense of purpose, vision, mission, calling;
What we often do not understand or realize is that we are often attracted to our own projections onto another person according to what we wish for, and in some cases, to what we lack in our own lives. The openness of hope for love with another often blossoms, with or without the projections, into infatuation and acceptance of each other. In many cases, this feeling of Love with another is due to how we feel when we are with them and may easily be combined with shared energies if the two people are sexually engaged. The energy transfer in open sex can often provide a shared desire that feels like a tear when two are physically separated to different locations.

The experience of falling in love and feeling love for another is perhaps the closest we come to heaven on earth, so to speak. To put it another way, the ecstasy of intimacy may mirror the spiritual connection in the present moment of an oneness with Life’s Source and Love Center… or spiritual oneness. Truly the feelings of love in the moment may have a quality of ‘eternity’…’forever’… and timelessness… again, mirroring spiritual Love.

And as most humans know, the projections of partnering and accepting can and usually do change. We discover our imperfect humanness and that our partner was not all that we projected them to be. Our fantasies are broken by real life. Some of the reasons for partnering may have somehow disappeared. The one who was so loved, becomes the one who becomes the object to ‘blame’ for our newly discovered unhappiness… or we fault ourselves for making a mistake… or for not seeing more clearly from the start.

Of course each person has their own version… our own story… and if we tell if long enough, we begin to believe it.

What I say and write is only my opinion. So now that I made that disclaimer, I will continue as if I actually know what I’m talking about. If it is useful for you… good. If you find it does not connect for you, that’s good too. Simply let it go.

It seems that most people have some type of spiritual awakening along the path, even if it is not labeled as a “spiritual awakening.” Many have visited guides, teachers, counselors, ministers, gurus, and others. We have the opportunity to learn at every moment. Most of our striving, trying, and doing are within the context of our social and cultural milieu along with our unique personal development and experience. What remains in the shadow of our unconscious can easily and often does have the tendency to control or at least impact our thinking, feelings, and actions.

The more aware we become… and there is always more to become aware of… the less likely we are to get lost in unconscious attractions, attachments, and behavior. On the other hand, each time we do get lost in the next adventure, it is also ‘grist for the mill’ of learning as we walk along our journey’s path.

It seems to follow that as we open to and experience ‘Source Love’ more directly in our own present experience, the more we can offer love to others in a way that is not looking for something in return. When we are disappointed or feel hurt in a relationship, it is a clear signal that we were expecting something different and were expecting something in return for giving Love…. Another teachable moment… Ideally, it seems that the more two people are actually experienced in Source Love, the more likely they will be able to openly be in and co-create a relationship… Source Love is always here. If we feel something else toward another person, we know we are dealing with some issue within.

Now, to be very, very clear…I hope… this does not mean in any way that we stay in a relationship or abusive situation just because there is love there for the other person. To appreciate that same Source Love first coming to us, we will honor and respect ourselves and move away from that energy that is reactive and abusive because of the shadow aspect of the other… and we must be reminded of the shadow in our own psyche that may have attracted the other… two unconsciously dancing shadows.

As humans and Being, we are complex and have many different energy patterns we carry. Most agree that if we had no imperfections, we would probably be elsewhere! This is to remind myself and others to be gentle on ourselves… to be as aware as possible… to trust our deeper intuition… and to continue to live with loving kindness as our guide.

Sometimes, I receive emails from friends, acquaintances, and others who read something I have said in my blog… and they say how much it hurts to want a relationship so much and yet they feel a bit powerless to actually make it happen… Or they have recently separated from who they thought was “the one”… Or others simply wonder if relationship is actually possible. In all these scenarios it depends a lot on not only how we define relationship, but what we are looking to ‘gain’ by being in a relationship.

I do not know if there is “one” person out there, a soul mate for each person. I suspect it is a bit more complex than that. On the other hand, we are all soul mates of the One Life that is ALL Life… Personally, I sense that the traditional paradigm of a fixed relationship, cemented in time and or space, is something that has been shifting for perhaps 30-40 years. That is part of many of our experiences and yet we may still be clinging to an idea that there is one person ‘out there’ that is perfect for us. It may be so. And I do not live by that ‘concept’ any longer which, for me, seems more of an expansion of my own openness rather than a resignation or loss of hope. It is freeing.

I contend that we must be somewhat together ourselves…FIRST… to the point of not ‘needing’ a relationship to fulfill some internal need for love and acceptance from the outside. When we feel good about ourselves, then we are better able to be present for others without expecting or wanting something in return.

If we truly bring the Source Love that runs to and through us to each moment and each encounter, without expectations or sets of rules about what a relationship should be, we perhaps can be in relationships that are truly timeless.

So the question remains: “How do we consistently connect with Love at the ‘Primary Source’ level?” Many of us know the words or theory or teachings… and yet find ourselves feeling a bit disconnected at times.

This subject has been addressed by most spiritual teachers every-where and every-when. Each of us has to find that wakefulness to the present moment beyond the shadows and blaring noises of both the unconscious energies of the psyche and the constant traffic of our egoic mind... Here are a few thoughts and avenues to consider:
  • Perhaps for some it takes a mindful inquiry into our experiences, feelings, and reactions as we go through the day.
    .
  • Some find it useful to practice some form of meditation or contemplation.
    .
  • Using our cognitive and creative abilities to grow positive thoughts to replace useless negative self-talk can provide a shift in attitude and feelings since thoughts and feelings are intricately entwined.
    .
  • Asking for help from your deepest Source of Love within, from the divine, from your guides and angels… whatever you wish to call the unseen wise ones … can bring intervention and synchronicities.
    .
  • Asking to talk with someone you trust who has the skills and wisdom to help you through some of the learning transitions… perhaps as a guide, counselor, or coach.
    .
  • Explore and discover a way to let go of unwanted emotional states and restore a sense of centeredness.
    .
  • Dreams can provide new information regarding unconscious dynamics and patterns and even connect us to direct messages from the realms of Wisdom and Love.
    .
  • Visualization and guided meditation or imagery works for many.
  • Spending time in nature can connect us to the wonderful natural sense of Life’s Oneness, power, and presence. Watching nature can teach us how to ‘be.’
    .
  • There are many specific spiritual schools and religious groups designed to take you through their teachings…which may be helpful for some.
    .
  • Many have experienced an opening through creativity, art, books, and stories of others.

There are always an infinite number of possibilities and an infinite number of possible outcomes based on the decisions and circumstances of our journey.

As long as we are looking to receive love from others and from a romantic relationship without the Love being present within that brings peace and acceptance, we will find disappointment. Relationships if they are to be satisfying, will take striving… that’s work… just as the path of being a spiritual warrior or warrioress takes work.

Learning the art of Present Moment living will help being present now and means learning to actually let go of yesterday’s emotional disappointments, hurts, pain, regrets, perceived failures, etc…. In addition it means letting go of any anxious and fear-based thoughts of tomorrow that our egoic mind wishes to conjure up to cast its spell and keep us away from this Present Moment of Now! The art of letting go of the past and future is liberating since we are no longer being controlled in the present moment. Letting go often involves forgiveness… forgiving ourselves and forgiving others…

Its work and it’s worth it. And it’s also simple… we just need to choose to do it.

So, what’s Love got to do with it?

Everything!

Let us consciously plug into the One Love so we may channel and give that Love to the world around us and to the people in our lives. May Love be our soulmate…and maybe someone will show up who also is mated to Love!

"Pray without ceasing..."

"Pray without ceasing"
"Pray without ceasing" was an urging from an early Christian leader to the people he was addressing. We might adopt this for our time as well, no matter what our spiritual perspective happens to be.
Here's what it means to me in this day and age... of 2012 and beyond...
Rumi has said in translation, "Once you wake up, do not go back to sleep." Once we wake up to the larger picture of an inclusive and connecting Life Energy, we will never forget it... yet we sometimes get a bit drowsy and negative thinking creates doubts. We fall into trances of seemingly being 'lost' and 'asleep' again... but there is a difference, since we have the memory of wakefulness somewhere within us... we have the feeling of home-sickness that calls to us from deep within our soul...
As we wake...let us do our best to stay awake... let us be mindful of the larger picture and connection...let us "pray without ceasing"...
Praying suggests a communication with 'God' or the ever-present Life Energy and Source out of which all form emerges. We are urged to stay tuned in and keep the communication lines open to the One Source of all Life.
"Without ceasing" means to me to remain awake, aware, and alert. I means to live life fully and as authentically as possible, no matter what our spiritual practice or life philosophy.
We tune our energies to the higher frequencies of Unconditional Love, Acceptance, and Inclusion and walk with a Respect for All of Life, including those who may hold different thoughts for whatever reason. "Pray" is a call to focus with our spiritual sight and heart... to commune with the totality of Being... A reminder to us... not to ask for things from an overindulgent sky parent, but to open our hearts and minds and our whole being to the One Source that really counts... with a grateful heart each and every moment... "without ceasing"...
So, with apologies to St. Paul of the Christian tradition, who in another time and place perhaps may have been referring to some different theological concept of who 'God' was/is, shared this 'admonition' to his readers: "Pray without ceasing." I echo his words as a reminder to myself and to all who may have similar wishes to stay awake... "do not go back to sleep."
I would urge us all to walk through each day with a mindful awareness and in that sense to pray, not with clasped hands, but with open arms embracing Life, without ceasing...

Connecting to Source-Love [Relationshipping Series - Part III]

"Connecting to Source-Love"
[Relationshipping - Part III]
It is my sense and also my experience that the primary key to any and all positive and enduring "Relationshipping" is how consciously aware and connected to "Source" we are at any particular moment. Most spiritual teachings will offer a mode or method of connection and in reality we are connected at all times or we would not be reading this...or breathing for that matter. The question is not so much if we are connected, but perhaps how consciously aware we are of this connection? ... And how is this connection most useful in our daily relationships and actions?
A long time ago... some 'now' before this 'now'... before this day... I had a powerful dream in which I was asked the question by a messenger of Melchizedek, "Whose Life is it anyway?"
It is now apparent in my experience that there is only One Life... and the fact is that Life itself is a miracle... Life is living itself through this being and form called "John"... or 'Jane'... or 'Suzy' or whatever name we have been given... and we are all "miracles of participation" in the great Singular Miracle and Mystery called "Life." I recall reading an article and when Eleanor Roosevelt was asked if she 'believed' in reincarnation, she answered, "Reincarnation is no more improbable than the fact that life exists at all." [jh paraphrase]...  Life itself is an improbable mystery and miracle... and we are witnesses and participants in the miracle! We are mostly so immersed in the soup of daily living; we take Life for granted... We forget to be Grateful at times for Life and for Source-Love that holds it all together...
 What is "Source" and how are we connected?
"Source" is referring to that nameless Mystery of Oneness... Source of Life Energy... of Sacred Spirit... Great Spirit... Some call the Mystery "God"... I prefer the term "Source" since the term "God" has too many concepts and institutional doctrines attached to the term.
If we are to truly find a center of stability, harmony, and integrity for individual growth and action, and likewise in Relationshipping, we must also connect in awareness and daily living to the "miracle of participation" with Source energy... It seems preferable that partners equally share this awareness and practical open connection to Source Energy... of Spirit... of the Essence of unconditioned Love... a conscious practical and daily involvement with our true Essence...
When we feel love for another being, even if through the needs and desires of personality dynamics, we also sense the timelessness of Source energy...  Love feels like "forever" due to its timeless quality. In actuality, and almost as a default due to the miracle of our participation, you and I are at One with Source... we are One with Unconditioned Love... we are the divine mystery... even though we are so often lost in varying aspects of personality dynamics, the tasks of the day, and the drama of the moment.
Entering the sacred space of Source there will be varying energies felt or sensed. It seems the essence of Source is Oneness... an all-inclusive cohesion of Love... in the stillness of Love we embrace its Peace... in the flow of Love's energy, we feel the current of Joy... in the knowing that Love relates, we find true wisdom...
The Source and re-Sourcing of Love is the most important aspect, in my opinion, that leads to right action, satisfying living, and evolving relating. While we are all all-ways connected and connecting to "Source," the question remains how do we re-Source our conscious awareness to the positive energies of Source-Love?
You may already have your favorite "method" through meditation, contemplation, visualization, prayer, dance, singing, music, art, etc...
Before looking at methods, it is important that we state our intention. This can be done directly by addressing Source with a prayer or affirmation such as:
"My intention is to connect as fully as possible to Source-Love and Life Energy. I ask that I may be assisted in any way possible to allow Source-Love to flow to and through this vehicle called [state name] for the highest good of all."
Here are several brief imagery exercises that may help you consciously be reconnecting with who you are, followed by a video from YouTube that will lead you through a guided imagery to consciously bring the frequency of love and light into our body...
Imagery 1:
  1. Find a quiet place to sit with your feet flat on the floor, perhaps with soft instrumental music playing;
  2. Breathe and relax your body, emotions and mind for a few minutes, releasing any tension or stress you sense;
  3. Imagine you have climbed to the top of a mountain on a bright and beautiful day;
  4. Allow the gentle breezes and warmth of the sun to flow to and through your entire body and to every cell;
  5. Imagine a special sunbeam coming through the top of your head, cleansing and energizing every cell from you head to your feet... and imagine the sunbeam continues into the earth and goes the whole way to the center of the earth...
  6. At the center of the earth there is also a ball of fiery transforming energy that purifies all  negative or toxic waste that has been washed from your being;
  7. Now see this beam of light continue and as it exits the fireball of energy it is actually coming right out of the sun again and back down through the top of your head.
  8. Repeat this imagery of transforming energy for as long as you choose;
  9. Now, with the fullness of the energy from Source filling your every cell, see your life this day and imagine taking this Source-Love energy into the situations that await you.
  10. Repeat this exercise, modified in any way that seems right for you, each day to consciously connect to Source-Love...
Imagery 2:
  1. Find a quiet place to sit with your feet flat on the floor, perhaps with soft instrumental music playing;
  2. Breathe and relax your body, emotions and mind for a few minutes, releasing any tension or stress you sense;
  3. Imagine you are comfortable seated with a blank screen in front of you;
  4. Ask your deepest and highest aspects of your unconscious mind to show you an image of "Unconditional Love" from Life's Source.
  5. Allow an image to come and use the first image that emerges. The conscious mind often likes to censor or judge the image... simply go with the image that appears;
  6. Allow the image to become 3 dimensional on the stage in front of you... notice the qualities and feel the energy from this image of unconditional love...
  7. Become the image...simply imagine you are now one with the image... and a solar spotlight shines upon you and the image as one... the light helps to intensify the merging energetic qualities of unconditional Love... I'm not sure what has change or if the image has changed since you merged with it, but you can no look out on anyone and any situation in your life from this energy of Unconditional Love and notice how they or it may have changed in your observation...
  8. Return your awareness to room you are in and to the present moment bringing with you all the qualities and energies you wish to retain...
  9. Note: when a spontaneous image is called for, it is often in the presence of a guide who is available to assist in the process. If for any reason you try this and get to a point where you are not sure what to do or have questions, please feel free to contact me and we can discuss it or go back to the image...

Energy Healing - Distance Healing

Healing happens.

All of Life is One.

You or I do not 'do' healing. Healing comes through the river of Life Energy... healing occurs through the Grace of Source Energy that is always present.

We simply have the opportunity to set our intention to focus Life Energy and get out of its way... Loving intention with a focus on a specific person and concern. Hopefully we are moving to an understanding of the Life processes in which we can acknowledge that dimension of spiritual reality beyond the boundaries we create with time and space concepts. Consciousness is everywhere and time is an illusion for the convenience of everyday scheduling...

Energy Healing, also called by other names depending on culture, techniques, teachers, etc., has always been around. as Life energy has always been flowing through all things... Source Energy, Life Energy, God Energy, Great Spirit, Sacred or Holy Spirit, Spirit... We are One... forming various entities of Life.

I conduct special sessions in which the intention is set toward Healing, Energy Balancing, Aura Cleansing, Attunement, or whatever you wish to call it. Some teachers and schools like to suggest that their way is 'best' or the 'right' way... this is most always a declaration of ego belief  for various reasons that I'm sure you can imagine...

Anyone can channel Life Energy, because we are doing it every moment Life is breathing through us...
I do special sessions which take a period in time and focus the Energy of Life to the named recipient... We all can channel Life Energy in the direction we are focusing and choosing... this comes through both intention and attention... to channel this Source energy in a certain and specific way...

When channeling healing energy to and with others, it is good to surround yourself with whatever form of protective energy shield you choose that works for you so you, as a focuser of Life Energy to and with another life form, are not picking up or taking on the energies and issues of others... and you may also receive messages or images that give some information about the person's condition.

I conduct special focus sessions in person and remotely... distance healing and cleansing... I have no special powers. When healing and cleansing occur, it is because 'Spirit' has assisted in the process ... To arrange a session, please send your specific information to John@sunhutch.com ...

Fees: I do not have set fees for the services ...and I do accept donations. If you are choosing to make a donation, you may use the 'Donate' button on the Sundance Center website at www.sunhutch.com or donations may be sent to John Hutchinson at the address listed in the right sidebar. The 'Donate' button will take you to a secure PayPal donation page where you can pay by credit card or from your PayPal account. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use their donation gateway.

May Life's Great Spirit continue to cleanse and heal us in this eternal moment....

Love and Blessings,

Dreams... Fears... and New Life

Dreams... Fears... and New Life
The turning of the calendar page can be a time to reflect on what has gone before and what we would like to see emerge in the new days ahead.
Now I don't know if you consider yourself to be on a spiritual journey or not, and if you are on path of spiritual and personal growth, it may be useful to face the fears that might seem to jump into our paths and keep us from moving to our highest potential.
Last night I read a portion on the "Shaman's Death" and it described the process in which before becoming the fullest we are becoming, the journeyer will face his or her fears... and will be letting go of those fears...
It is a time when we celebrate the new...and the letting go of what no longer serves our highest and deepest ideals and mission in life...
Before I entered the dream-time, I planted the seed that perhaps I might be given some insight into my deeper fears... and in the midst of sleep found myself in a place of fear. I was in an elevator that I knew was rising up the exterior of a very tall building. My traveling companions were two women and a man... all related... two couples...
I faced the rear of the elevator and would not look outside since I felt a fear of heights. I moved to the place inside the elevator that was the most removed from the windows.
When we reached a floor near the top, I exited the elevator while holding my gaze down to the floor, so I would not be so aware of the height. The spouse of the other man spoke about her fear that the weight of so many people might tear apart a stairway and all of us would go crashing down.
Now, this is an example of how dreams can aid us in our daily walk. It has shown me that one of my fears is a fear of going to higher places in consciousness and seeing more... There is also an accompanying fear of plummeting down in a crash of the psyche as expressed by a related feminine aspect within...
[Note: For those not familiar with Carl Jung and his work with the dream-world, he described the two couples within our psyche. One couple represents the more dominant and outward male-female aspects of consciousness, while the other couple represents the more subtle or less conscious aspect of our psyche. This dream image represents that classic picture. Two couples, traveling together inside one vehicle, the elevator in this case, one that I clearly identified with as 'my' personal partnership, the other coupled partners are related since my partner and the other woman are sisters.]
So I will now face those fears as they arise of "seeing too much"... of going or becoming "too high"... and the fear of "crashing" to the ground...
It seems as we are doing our best to walk according to the highest and deepest within, we are brought face to face with those aspects of which we need to let go in order to fully surrender to this Present Moment of Life.
Part of this message is to share with you my deepest wish for you to also meet your fears, your teachers, and to go through those illusions that might have been keeping you from fully expressing the Life Energy you have been gifted. Let us together hold the intention to walk as "One Tribe" and surrender to that which is 'highest' and 'deepest' within... the Flame of Life...
Love and Blessings on the path... John

On Healing and Love...

On Healing and Love
Healing = Source Energy = Love
Life = Being = Source
Will = Intention = Choice = Action
Spirit = Life energy = Love = Peace = Joy
Healing occurs through Life's Source Energy
We humans must set our personal preferences aside and get out of the way, while we remain in the path of Love's Healing flow.
The Divine flows through all of Life and is Life...
If we are to be instruments of Healing and Love, we must attend to the dimension of Spirit and set our intention with passion and will to channel the healing resources through our form... be it energetic, touch, thought, emotions and/or prayer.
Life is Being...
Trust the process of Life Energy...of Spirit...
Our ego cannot force something to happen... it will happen in the moment of letting go... of releasing our personal desires or wishes for power or results... results will occur as we let go of any egoic wants and even at times when our personal attachments get in the way...
Affirming the power of Life...the receiver is best served by letting go of past and future and simply being in the present moment.
We are multi-dimensional beings of Being... interconnected through the Source which is LIFE... a oneness of Living Energy...
Life is...
It is truly a miracle that Life exists at all... and that we create symbols to write about Life's dynamics...
Let us do the work to place our ego wants and desires and attachments aside for those moments we wish to truly be servers of Love and bring healing to ourselves, others, the world, and the social and tribal dynamics in which we find ourselves.
As changes occur in us and around us, we are asked to find that center within that is free of the chaos and dramas of the world.
A new year will assuredly bring many changes, personally and globally.
It is good to have the support of others. And we are encouraged to have the support of others who find that spaciousness within that provides a stable basis from which to act. Many will embrace one another in fear and want to be companions in misery as is always the case. Let us encourage one another in the path of Spirit...in the path of Love... in the path of Life...
Love and blessings from John and friends.
