Two Friends

 

Once upon a time, two friends met while walking in the park. It was a beautiful day for a walk. The sun was shining in a clear blue sky and they decided to continue walking together. They talked sometimes as they spent time together... and they also walked or sat in the park in silence, just being together with nature.... with Life and Love...

 

After a nice visit in the park, they seemed to sense it was time to part. They embraced and the one friend said, I while see you soon. The other friend, with tears on her cheeks, said, "I must say goodbye to you because I will never see you again." Her friend was puzzled and replied, "Why? Are you going away?"

 

She replied, "Not really. When we meet it is Now and our friendship and love is deep. The experience we share is precious. Now we part and when we see each other again, we will be different and it will be a brand new Now. I must let go of our time today and who I think you are, so when that time comes when we meet again, I will be present in the moment to listen to who you have become. We die to this moment and to what we might think of it later so we can really be together in a future moment of new life."

 

The friends embraced again and knew that moment was gone... and their hearts were full.

 

Often the tears we share come from the bond of love we share and the dying and separation into the ongoing Now of timelessness...

The other night, I had a powerful dream. I was standing in the midst of a large school and it was dark. I knew I had been in this school for a long long time. My task in this place had come to end and now it was time to move on. There was some nostalgia and also some excitement about what would be next as I left this place that seemed so familiar.

 

When I woke and was recording the dream, it was clear an ending was near. I have been going through a transition and letting go at the end of a cycle in my life. Whether this foreshadows a transition to spirit world or a transition to a new beginning and new task in this dimension really does not matter... and in some ways they are the same... I do sense that I must say goodbye to the 'old' self and the 'old' friends without knowing who I will meet in the park tomorrow... perhaps friends and trees and squirrels and horses with no names but Love...

 

It is all good, even when the tears of love signify the loss of what was, so that what will be... can be...

 

Blessings and Love to you who read these words... I'm not sure who we will be the next time we meet... but I am sure that Love will guide the way.

OBE - Out of Body Experience

• Definition - OBE or OOBE is the experience and awareness of being outside of the physical body and at times observing the physical body. There are many books, articles, and videos that document the experiences of many who have had OBEs. There are also many who teach and train others who wish to learn to experience OBEs. My personal view is that when and if we are to experience an OBE, it will occur in its proper time. Simply looking fun or adventurous experiences in this realm may be a distraction to fulfilling your task in our bodies in the world.

• Physical and Astral or Ethereal Body
  Of course, we have a fairly good idea of our physical body since we spend most of our conscious moments in this vehicle. The Astral, Ethereal, or Etheric Body can be likened to an aura or spiritual cloud that is attached to the physical body and can also disassociate awareness from the physical body. Most teaching purport there to be a silver cord that connects the astral body to the physical body, so when it is time to return, there is the return path assured. Some have experienced a sudden return as a jolt that may bring you back quickly to physical body consciousness.

• Astral Projection or Sleep TravelThis phenomena is the awareness of being out of the physical body and traveling to other locations and or meeting up with other people during periods of sleep or deep meditation.

• Accident experiences
  Following accidents, people have reported floating above the scene and watching what is going on, including viewing their physical body from above.

• OBEs during surgery
  Similar phenomena have been reported as patients have hovered over the surgical table viewing an operation on their physical body and reporting details of events and conversations that occurred while they were presumed to be unconscious.

• OBEs during other trauma
• Physical abuse
• Sexual abuse
• Mental/Emotional Abuse

The above areas of experience have been reported by victims of abuse and seem to provide a form of dissociative response to help the person deal with the trauma and violence to the body, mind, and emotions. Sometimes prolonged abuse can produce split personalities or various subpersonalities that help the person function while the memory of the abuse is seemingly repressed from consciousness of a dominant subpersonality.

NDE - Near Death Experience

• Definition - An NDE may occur during or following a traumatic event such as an vehicular accident, heart attack, 'dying' during surgery, or any other situation in which the person may actually be considered dead by medical personnel.

• OBE Similarity - The event may include actual OBE experiences as mentioned above.

• Traveling toward the Light - Those who have an NDE often report a traveling toward a bright and loving energy.

• Life Review - Some NDEers also report a complete life review more as a learning experience than as a time of judgment.

• Appearance of Loved Ones - NDEers sometimes report meeting one or more loved ones who have already passed from this life.

• Decision Point - There is a reported point of choosing whether or not to return to the physical body, usually accompanied with a profound sense of a reason or mission to accomplish.

• New Abilities - In addition to a new purpose and mission for returning, some people return from their NDE with new abilities and a new spiritual perspective. Some have increased intuitive and psychic abilities; some have new knowledge that was not learned during their lifetime up to the point of the NDE.

• Other Issues and experiences - Some report other than positive travel during their NDE, or not wanting to come back but being told their time is not up. Others may be traumatized by the experience and not want to talk about it because they will fear being ostracized and labeled as being crazy. IBE - Incarnating Body Experience

The Incarnating Body Experience or In-Body Experience is a category that I am adding as that experience of bring into conscious awareness and action in the world both a spiritual energy of Love and a 'knowing' of the connection between our existence and Life's Source Energy. It usually involves an experiential knowing or realization that all Life is One. Many of the spiritual masters, like Jesus of Nazareth or Buddha, showed the rest of us how to 'incarnate' the truth and presence of Life's Source, the creating Spirit and energy of Life and transformation. While much press is given the OBEs and the NDEs because of the extraordinary stories that often accompany the events, often the people who are actually living an ongoing IBE at optimal levels do not receive much attention, nor do they usually seek it.

NOW - New Optimal Window

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the NOW experience which is taking the positive spiritual lessons and connections from any of the above experiences and being aware and active in the Present Moment. Of course it is not a "New" Optimal Window or way of seeing the world, and it may be for some. Our domestication process, especially in the western cultures, has focused on left-brain, linear models of education for living in the industrialized world run by time clocks and calendars. While these are necessary aspects for functioning in our everyday life, they place most of the focus on the past and the future. And, so, most of us spend a good bit of our thinking rummaging through past events or anticipating future events that may or may not occur.

The present moment is here now and is always here now. It is the spaciousness of eternity... timeless... it is pure awareness now. It seems that of the wise teachers in other 'nows' have emphasized the importance of the present moment of awareness.

So this is now a New Optimal Window ...the NOW experience... to switch from fantasies about tomorrow's now and interpretations about yesterday's nows. NOW is an extraordinary experience!

Now, is this as good a time as any to check out this New Optimal Window...this new way of seeing...? It brings the Present into its deserved focus, since it is the only real time that exists... NOW!

Welcome to Wednesday March 24, 2010

A pleasant reminder that no matter what is going on now.... it will change... since the present moment is always Now and is always in motion.... within all the change is the still center of being...

Let us affirm together that we are One with Life itself..One with all that is...

Let us affirm that we are not breathing Life.... but rather Life is breathing us...

In the moment of this day, Sundance Center and John are also in transition...

The residence at 300 Huntington Drive is still up for sale...

As most of you know, the marriage contract between Connie and I was officially terminated in January 2010. While this has been an amicable transition in our relationship, I wish to be clear that I was the one that initiated the change.... Connie continues working and serving in Doha, Qatar and will most likely be there for the next 2-3 years. Plans are for her to return to 300 Huntington for the 2 weeks prior to the house closing date... whenever that is determined...

I do not know, at this time, where I will go, but Sundance Center and I (along with pet, Lucia) are trusting the process and know we will be here now...wherever that may be... The egoic mind likes to know everything all the time...I will trust that when it is time to know, then it will be known.... I can envision a quiet natural setting that may provide living situation for some part-time care-taking or other work for a few hours per week...

You may be wondering about my exploring moving to Colorado... At this time, I do not sense clarity about moving to the Denver, Colorado area  or Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, CO... I am open to where Life may lead and also open to staying in the Lancaster County area where I am at this time...

One night, some years ago now, I had a long dream that was much like a shamanic journey.... It culminated in a room where I saw a symbol on the floor of a small chamber with 4 doors and a voice asking me "Whose Life is it anyway?"  I took it as an other deep moment of calling to renewal of Spirit in my life ... It was also a call and reminder to ego that Life was one and what I thought was my life that somehow belonged to me.... this vehicle labeled John was in reality One with Life's Source... that Life itself is a miraclulous gift of Grace and it was Life that is breathing through me... At times we get lost in the idea that it is our Life and that we somewhat own it... I have come to the opinion that the best I can do through my choices is to cooperate with the stewardship of Life wherever we are...

Life has provided many rich experiences in this lifetime... from many various service and work opportunities to various avenues of creative expression... through this stained glass window labeled John and Sundance Center....

Now it is time to truly allow the emergence of the New into the Now... for each one of us...

I hear from others as well that they are experiencing what feels like the end of a cycle in their lives.... and we are reminded that the new beginnings are emerging and on their way... it is our job to be with the uncertainty, the unknowing, and the confusion of transitions, realizing that these are natural ego reactions to the uncertainty and lack of control ...

It is a time to be in touch with the highest reality within our being... to find the stillness of the present moment and surrender...letting go to what is... while also envisioning what our preferences are... and what our next steps of service might be...

Let us find the Courage to Be in the face of the unknown and the illusions that fear might create from time to time... If we continually wake up to the Eternal Moment beyond time and space consciousness, we can find the unifying center of stillness the Always IS...

Let us Be the best advertisement for Love in our everyday actions and words... especially with those we encounter in our homes, works, and everyday routines... Be the cliche-ed "Change you wish to see"....

May Life Energy...Life's Greatest Spirit,,, Bless us with waking moments of Peace...of Love... and of Joy...

May those who are disappointed, sad, and experiencing loss, allow those emotions to take there quick flow back to Source... through allowing what is... allowing light and winds of Spirit to clear the darkness in its perfect time...
