The Medicine Walk was originally a time when a person would walk in nature, often in some designated area. The purpose was to hear the answers to a concern or question from Spirit…including all of Great Mother’s spirits in nature.

The Seminoles developed a method using bone chips with symbols on them after their natural lands were taken from them by the ancestors of many of us. I received the Seminole Medicine Walk chips [or runes] from Sam Thomas, [Caocoohee, of the Whirling Rainbow Lodge] in 1998. The tradition of the Medicine Walk runes or chips was passed down to Sam by his grandmother, Beulah Wise Owl, a Seminole Medicine Woman.

Although I have no known Native American ancestors, I have always sensed a kinship with Native American spirituality and have found the use of the Medicine Walk runes helpful for me and for others as we have done readings together.

Now we have a way to do distance interactive Medicine Walk readings as you choose your own chips.
