Some musings about "God"...

Some musings about “God”…

I suppose it is presumptuous to even use the word “God” in some ways… most mystical teachings as well as institutional religions tend to have some word or symbol for “God.”

All religions have their teachings and their doctrines about the nature and characteristics of “God”… and all atheists have their defined beliefs about who “God” is not.

To many, the sense of the spiritual and essence of Life is in the beingness and oneness that is sensed in a natural setting… and “God” in this sense can be considered the largest and all inclusive form of this beingness… the source of Life… the Spirit of Life Energy.

When we sense this essence of the spiritual, it comes in many forms and thoughts and feelings to each person… Indeed there is something to be said for the Great Mystery of Life. For once we pronounce our ideas and experiences and beliefs about this “God,” we must by the inherent nature of who we are, impose our subjective interpretation.

It may perhaps be much easier to say what “God” is not… and in so doing we will surely offend someone since their own concepts and beliefs may assume “God” to be what others have decided “God” is not.

Many of us can at least agree that there is much more going on than what our mental constructs and beliefs might conceive or imagine.

Paranormal and psychic phenomena have shown that consciousness extends beyond the constructs of our personal or egoic conscious mind.

Much in science points to the essence of the physical world being energy, frequencies, and the transforming of energy. Some have described this Life Energy as Spirit… In this sense, “God” may then be considered the mysterious Source of all this transforming energy.  We surely get into trouble if we try to define the direction that "Source" will move this energy or pretend we know the outcome.

In many ways it is at least useful to understand the movement of Life Energy in the world as a co-creative process. We see many decisions made on varying beliefs as to the best direction to take. We see it in political parties, in various religious movements, in most councils and committees. People have differing ideas, wants, desires, goals, and needs.

I have been schooled both informally and formally in aspects of the Christian religion. Yet, I do not specifically refer to my beliefs as “Christian.” At best we can find some words, ideas, or teachings that we agree with and apply them to our lives. I might say that I agree with the teachings of Jesus, but that is also understood in the context of realizing the teachings of one man where transcribed my others and ultimately by an institution which was far different perhaps than what Jesus actually had in mind.

I doubt that Jesus actually ever intended there to be “Christians” in the world… but rather folks who did their best to love and serve others… Energy-work and hands-on healing has been around a long time and I suppose Jesus was quite good at it according to the reports we received, as was true of many spiritual teachers across the ages.

Jesus, it is suggested, spoke of the kingdom being present… and for me this can be understood as the perfect combination of compassion in this moment. For the quality of Love is timeless and the present moment is quite different than the concrete mental structures attributed to time. The future and the past exist because our mind can create them. Yet the miracle of life exists in the present moment.

Most modern and mystical teachers from various backgrounds seem to come to the importance of Life in the present… Not this month or this day… but this moment… the essential Now…

It is in this moment that the Essence of the Living Spirit can be sensed and felt. It is in this moment that decisions can be made… It is in this moment that we can choose to respond and act... It is in this moment we can open and listen... It is in this moment we receive answers from the "unknown"...

Herein lies the mystery of Life… we co-create with Life in this moment…

Of course we make our choices based on values either absorbed from our environment or consciously chosen by our own search, learning, and life experience. Values of kindness and love are properly best taught through example and words. And so we co-create the next moment from the past moments… and it happens here, right now, in this moment…

If we continue to use our mental energy to replay the past, we deprive ourselves of living in the present. Of course, there are times when we are unconsciously controlled by our past and this may take some work, counseling, letting go, forgiveness, and or acceptance in order to heal the past and return home to Now… to the present moment…

Likewise, if we live in fear about the future, or obsess over trying to control the future or avoid certain things in the future, we are also lost from being at home in the present moment…

The past was… the future will be… and the present moment In and outside of time bring the “kingdom of God” to earth in the practicality of Now… It is now, when we chose to be kind... It is in the Now, we Love...

So, these are a few musings about "God" and Life... I truly believe and have experienced that when we have a need, we shall find guidance… not ahead of time, but rather as we need to know… in this co-creating process in which the Oneness and Source of Life is always and ever present… To me this is the essence of “God” and Life Energy…

The Jungian Approach with Marion Woodman [video]

From 1975 to 1977, I formally studied the Jungian approach to therapy through the language of the soul... the dream world... since that time I have both practiced and used dreamwork in personal development as well as in helping others find their way home... Jungian studies and dreamwork took me to new levels of understanding and living the oneness of Life, the integration of spiritual and the 3D world of our existence... Finding our true voice may happen in many ways... dreams are a way to unlock the unconscious... and to move toward synthesis and wholeness....

In this video, Jungian Analyst Marion Woodman describes her approach to therapy, which she says, comes from the unconscious. She goes on to define and explain the unconscious and how it starts with a dream. The dream is a picture of the unconscious and what you do through the day is mirrored in the dream at night.

Best wishes,
