In this Christmas Season, I celebrate with you the teaching of unconditional love brought by one of the greatest spiritual teachers to walk the earth. With all the attention that Christianity has given to Jesus’ birth and his crucifixion, and with all the meaning that has been attributed to Jesus by others, his own message has yet to fully penetrate the heart of humanity. This Christmas, let us give and receive unconditional love as we never have before.

Here, in these few words, is Jesus’ invitation as it has come down to us through the ages. It is, as much as possible, in his own words, understanding all the issues of translation. Despite those issues, this profound message is still hidden in plain sight in the best-selling book of all time, the Bible.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all.

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

 

Love, in its pure form, is universal. It is the ultimate power of the cosmos. That power cannot be undone and it never stops. When a person opens themselves to that power and lets it move through them, refusing to stop doing so for any reason, they have embraced that ultimate power as their own reality. They have taken the same stance as a human being that universal love takes all the time—“I never stop radiating myself.”

When you and I love unconditionally, we are embracing what is most true of who we are. We are love. To love unconditionally, we have to face the greatest lie that has ever been foisted on a human being—that we are weak when we express love and we are strong when we act from fear and hate. Exactly the opposite is true. We are powerful when we love unconditionally.

Unconditional love is the beginning of the spiritual journey. The spiritual journey is all about what happens when a person chooses a life of unconditional love. It is about how that person is transformed and transmuted by their choice, which one day ceases to be a choice and becomes who they are, known through and through.

I have many heroes in my life; people who have inspired me, people I have admired and aspired to be like in some way. Above them all is the life and teaching of this courageous, passionate, loving man who showed us what universal love looks like in human form. May we receive his message in this day and let it be our own.

The Divine Within - Carol Dombrose

The following message was delivered to the Church of the Angels by our friend Carol Dombrose,  Oct. 2009

I am here today to speak to you about the Divinity that lives inside of you.   I came to speak to you of how deeply you are loved.

At this time in our history, we are being called to recognize a higher self that lives within us.  Barbara Marx Hubbard calls it the Universal Self.  Others call it the Divine light and love that lives in our heart.
 
Neale Donald Walsch was once asked during a Q & A session after one of his talks if he could sum up what God wanted us to know about Him in just one paragraph.  He said he could do it in 5 words.  “You’ve got Me all wrong”. 
 
We have been taught to believe that the God we seek lives outside of us, in a heaven that we can only hope to reach after we die.  But we are not separate from God.  The God Source of life and love lives inside of us.

When we know our own heart, we remember who we are, we remember the light that we are. We need only to look inside our own heart to know love at a deeper level - to find God.
I felt that connection to life when I was 5 years old and the oak tree in my front yard was my friend.  I talked to the tree and took care of its leaves in the Fall when they fell to the ground.  The whole world was mine.  I could live in peace, give love to my doll, build castles in the sand, have a tree for my friend.  The whole world was a place to love. 

But then as I grew and was trying to live the life I was taught to live, I can see now that my spiritual self – my connection to love that I wasn’t even aware of was keeping me on the path I was meant to live. 
 
A defining moment in my life was the death of my husband in 2001.  He was such a loving man I thought that my time with him had taught me all there was to know about love.  Yet after his death, I kept hearing this call to go deeper into love.  I was not really sure what that meant, but I felt pulled into a deeper connection to the Source of love.
 
Within months of Larry’s death I was led to an old farmhouse and 3 acres of land in Strongsville where I started what is now called Angel House:  Life Enrichment Center.  As a Psychologist, just talking to people about their problems didn’t seem to be enough.  We needed to go deeper into who they were, into their creative self, their spiritual self.  This is what I wanted to provide at Angel House, a safe place for people to explore the deeper self. 

I did that by providing in addition to counseling, classes in the creative and healing arts.  I didn’t think of Angel House as also being my place to explore.  But this is where my journey into the dimension of deeper love began.  And to my surprise, I have found that the journey led me right back into my own heart. 
 
When I was a child, we had a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus hanging in our living room.  When you came in the front door and looked straight ahead, there He was.  I loved that picture and it always brought me great comfort. 
 
When my parents both died and we were preparing to sell the house, the only thing I wanted from the house was that picture.  It now hangs in my bedroom.

When I was in high school, a teacher told me that when Jesus died on the cross, his heart was pierced by the soldier after He had died so his heart never healed and would always be open to us. 
 
So, sitting in church one day, I was thinking about that image and decided that I would crawl into the opening in His heart and then I would always be safe. 
 
As I grew Spiritually, I encountered difficulty in dealing with the church in my life and ended up leaving the church for what I thought would be a short time until I could work out my difficulties.  However, I have never gone back.

During that time, Jesus got shut out of my life along with the church.  Although I had left Him, He never left me.  He came to me in a dream when I was going through a very difficult divorce.  The divorce took five years to get resolved and my life changed considerably during that time. 

In the dream, He was leaning against a rock and He said to me, “You don’t have to stay here with these people, you can move on.”  The dream was very comforting. 

That was my last encounter with Jesus until many years later when I was learning how to do the healing energy work of Reiki.

Before we started our training, the instructor had us do an imagery.  She led us to a temple and asked us to open the door to find our Reiki Guide.  When I opened the door, there stood Jesus.  I was upset and tried to make Him go away saying that I wanted my Reiki Guide.  I finally had to concede that He WAS my Reiki Guide and go with it. 

The Instructor then said that our Reiki Guide handed us a gift.  Jesus gave me a box and said, “In here is all you will ever need.”  I thought that it probably contained many things and when I needed something, I could open the box and find it there.
 
Then in my imagery, I opened the box and the only thing in the box was a Heart!!
Now I knew that He was back in my life and I would need to learn more about Him.  A book that was suggested in the reading list from the Reiki training was “Jesus Lived in India”.  I bought this book and began to read about this part of His life.  Now He was becoming a person to me, someone I could identify with and this felt very comfortable.  I was glad to have Him out of the church and back into my life.  He had been a good friend to me. 
 
When I was getting attuned with the Reiki energy into my hands, He again spoke to me and said; “Now your hands are my hands and my hands are your hands.”  Now I was deeply connected to Him.

In May of 2009 while I was doing my morning meditation before arising, I was talking to Jesus and in my imagery, I saw his heart, with its open wound, come towards me and merge with my heart. 

Now the safety I wanted by hiding in His heart as a teenager, was in my own heart.  Our fusion was getting stronger.
Two days later I had this experience that I recorded in my journal:  “I like to go in my imagery to a quiet place next to a waterfall where I could meet with Jesus and feel safe.  For sometime now, I have been unable to connect to Jesus and thought it was because I was distracted and not focused.  Also, for the last couple of weeks, I have no longer felt Larry’s presence."

So this morning, facing that same difficulty, I became aware that the reason I could no longer find Him ‘out there’ was because He was not ‘out there‘, but was ‘in here’ ~~ He is part of me.  This is also true of Larry’s energy.

I realized that I had assimilated them, their energy, into myself and we are not separate.  They continue to live now through me.
 
None of these ideas are really new to me, I have said these words before, but I have never felt it like I do now. 

So Jesus also is not someone “out there” but someone who lives inside of us.  Inside our heart with the Love Source that is part of us.

Jesus ascension and the term Ascended Masters now has a different meaning to me.  Ascension is another word for evolution.  Evolution is a process of Ascension.  Ascension is something we can all achieve while we are alive.  We do not have to wait until we die to find heaven.  It is the emergence of more complex forms of existance.  Our ascension begins right now, into the divine realm that is right inside of us.  And we can live in and from that space.

In our evolution we are moving toward the Christ consciousness.

We were taught that Christ came and lived His life to show us the way – the way to Ascension – Yes, our own Ascension to connect to the Divine that is right inside our heart.
Christ taught us all what we needed to know but through the years it was twisted and turned to fit what was the thought of the day and the way of human life that was limited.

We are now getting back in touch with Christ’s original message.  Heaven - What we are looking for is right inside of us.  And we can reach that place by opening to and accepting the divinity that lives in our heart.  
 
I would like to share with you a short meditation because the experience of personally connecting to the Divine within is stronger than any words I can say. 
 
Close your eyes if you are okay with that.  
 
Take a deep and steady breath in, exhale slowly, 
 
Take another deep and steady breath in, breath in pure white light through your nose and let that light reach and touch every corner of your being. 
 
Exhale that pure white light forming a circle around you with it.

Breath in deeply again and let pure white light touch the very center of your heart where you and God meet and touch and create together.

Exhale and let the assuredness of your breath circle you...

Breath in pure white light and as you exhale let the light go as high as wide and as deep as you can imagine it can.

In your minds eye while enfolded in your circle of your pure white light take yourself to the center of your heart.

Notice a small chamber in your heart center that contains within it a powerful spark of light.  That is God’s outpost in you.
 
Take another deep breath into your heart and connect to that powerful spark of light.
Exhale and feel yourself expanded. 

Take another deep breath and connect deeper, deeper, deeper still until you are no longer separated from that powerful spark of light.

Exhale a long steady breath, allow it to circle around you.

Rest comfortably now, you are about to receive a message that is spoken to you from the source of your creation:

“I am here with you, my child, I am here.  I am here to help you fully awaken, I am here to watch over you and to love you as you fully awaken to your power and use your divine heritage to lead by example.
 
I am in awe of the masterpiece I created.  I am in awe of your beauty, and your courage and your commitment.  And I am honored to have a part of me living inside of you.  Here in the center of your heart is where I have kept company with the most powerful part of yourself awaiting your arrival. 
 
Will you cease looking for external understanding to validate your eternal worth?  Your worth has always resided in here in the center of your heart with me.  I want you to know that your very presence when fully awakened allows every other being of my creation a greater opportunity to experience there own greatness.
 
You have been created to make a difference in my world and I love you.  Will you believe me when I tell you how grateful I am that I created you exactly as you are?  And will you come to peace knowing that truth.  Do you know how much I love you.  Never push me away and I promise to daily show you the many ways in which I love you.  May the light of all that is good and great and powerful and wise accompany you on your MAGNIFICENT  journey.  I travel inside of your every footstep.”

In closing, let me leave you with this thought:

Inside your heart is where you find the Divine within.  Go there when you feel afraid or uncertain, you will find comfort, go there when you feel good and celebrate together with the Divine within you.  Know that you can never be separated from this Divine light.  It is part of you, it is who you are, you are never alone.  We are not separate from Source.

The Deeper Meaning of the Resurrection

Friday Evening Meditation - Source Energy

Note: This 'Communion is considered the first of the series since it was developed and used in a time when the Holy Day or Sabbath began Friday at sunset.

The following meditation is based upon the Essenes' teachings... the daily meditations or communions are designed to be used morning and evening in addition to the noon practice called the Sevenfold Peace. At the beginning of each meditation, the following prologue is recited:

"I enter the spaciousness of this timeless and infinite Garden with reverence to the Source and Energy of Life, to the Earth and all its fullness, to the spiritual teachers of all traditions, to the liberating purity of truth, and with reverence to all who courageously walk the Path of Spirit..."

You are encouraged to spend time sitting with the following statement before continuing to read.

"Source of All and I are One... We are One!"

In this moment, all things dissolve into the oneness of Being... the Mystery that is Life...

In this moment, the 'I' dissolves into the cosmic Ocean of Divine Love...

In this moment, there is nothing... and there is everything... the roar of silence...

The purpose of this Communion is to teach us the importance of union with the eternal and boundless cosmic ocean of all the radiations from the entire universe, to help us be receptive to these powers so that we may attain cosmic consciousness, enabling us to unite with the cosmic currents. Through this we can develop and liberate the creative abilities within ourselves to the utmost and learn to use the creative principle in our daily life and surroundings.

It has been speculated by some scholars that Jesus or Yeshua emerged from the Essene 'Brotherhood." When Yeshua of Nazareth was asked what the greatest commandment is, it is recorded in an Aramaic translation...

"Yeshua said to him, "You shall love The Lord Jehovah your God from all your Heart and from all your Soul and from all your Power and from your entire Mind."  

So, it seems only right and proper that we give back to the Loving Source of Life all that has been given to us from every aspect and cell of our being... All can be distilled into the Oneness of Divine Love in every aspect of life... and free-will provides for everything else... which is also a gift of Divine Love... as we find our way back home to the special presence of Now!

"Source of All and I are One ... We are One ... Life is One..."

I just completed interpreting or paraphrasing some ancient teaching from the Essene community from which Jesus of Nazareth is thought to have emerged... the information was recovered from the Qumran and Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in the last century...

The attached document [eBooklet] can be read as a whole to catch a glimpse of ancient teachings and how they relate to the spirituality of this age... or can be used as the Essenes used it... for morning, noon, and evening meditations. I have always been drawn to the the gnostic and Essene material since it emphasizes the intuitive nature of knowing and a respect for all of creation... I have paraphrased the information to make it inclusive and more generic in language...

Many Dwelling Places...

It is written that our brother and spiritual master, Jesus, said, "In my Father's house are many mansions...."

And indeed in the world of worlds and universe of universes, both physical and spiritual, there are many dwelling places...

There are many planes of knowing and consciousness... time collapses into eternity now... as we are being ushered into new realms of awareness...

Treat each person as if they were your favorite Great-great grandfather or grandmother... for in fact they may be...

Treat each other as if all are one and the same as the Divine Source and Mystery of Life and Love... for indeed we are in some way...at some level... One Soul... One Being... Now...

Jon Stewart asks Jesus about Mosque - Ground Zero

 My friend, Lucia's keeper, sent me the following... enjoy!

I woke up last night to the sound of laughing and realized I'd fallen asleep with the TV on. It was 3 AM and I knew it was Jon Stewart but I had to fumble around for my glasses to see who his guest was. Unbelievable! It was Jesus, in his robe and all. His nose was bigger than I thought, his skin a lot darker, but his eyes were more piercing than I'd ever imagined. It was like light came out instead of going into them.

John was making some joke about both of them being Jews and Jesus, after laughing harder than I thought he would, said quite seriously to Jon, "Yeah, that's one of the weirdest things, isn't it? How could they forget that?"

Source Healing

Source of Healing Energy…


We can read the many anecdotal reports of spiritual, emotional, and physical healings from the scriptures of various spiritual traditions as well as from the numerous writings about the work of contemporary healers and energy workers. One of the most well known spiritual teachers and healers comes from the Christian religious tradition… The following paraphrase of the recorded words attributed to Jesus helps to understand the basis of Healing Energy…


It is recorded that Jesus said to those around him, “You witness the things that I do... Well, I just want you to know, it is not me... it is not the personal ego nature that does these things, but rather the One Life Source… the Sacred Spirit… the Divine Energy that is flowing through this channel my parents named ‘Jesus’… and the real ‘Parents’ of Consciousness is the Source of Life that flows through us All…”


Just because we might experience the Life Energy flowing through us, let us not be deluded into thinking that we can somehow own or control this instantly transforming power of healing and life… that is always the personal egoic mind… The only choice we have is whether or not we will clear the path… get out of the way… for Life Energy to flow freely through us…


Turn from distraction…


Let us join together to forgive those who have wronged us and let the grudges, anger, and recurring fantasies fly away in the blink of an eye…


Being freed to openly channel Love… now…


Even as we forgive our brothers and sisters, our tribe, our traditions, our collective past… let us also forgive the wrongs we have committed against others… against ourselves… against Life… against other creatures and the Earth… again free to fly in the breezes of Life’s Joy and Peace…


Forgiveness itself is only an aid… an illusion since a sleeping child is not responsible for his or her nightmares… And forgiveness gives us a choice to let go of the fantasies that replay in the egoic mind, keeping us distracted from the present… and Presence of Life…


All can be accepted …what was … was … what will be … will be …and what is…is what is … now…


Enter the realm of Timeless Consciousness…see, feel, and sense the freedom of letting go into the presence of Now…

Dreams and Spirit: St. Peter and the Inter-State High-Way

(The following is one in a series of articles related to dreams and spirituality)

Clearing the Inter-State


Now, as I am driving along an interstate highway, there are certain places where there is road repair going on… so, I weave around it as I am driving. Then I come to a scene in which a man is working on a large rock that protrudes from the ground right along the inner lane. I slow and am looking to see what he is doing. He is working to break the boulder apart and make the way more safe and open.


Then, he is working on more rocky areas along the mountain and expanding and clearing the way for the Highway…


All of a sudden, the rocks begin to move and there the highway worker is sliding along with the rock slide. He ends up on the ocean shore and a large flat rock has him trapped. Someone calls to me to help him. "Help rescue St. Peter."


I find myself along the ocean shore and the waves are coming in… perhaps the tide is shifting. The waves cover up where Peter and the rock were last seen, but I recall where they are and go to the spot and reach in and find Peter and the rock… As I go to lift the rock, there is someone else there to help since the rock is larger than I can handle… and we free St. Peter from beneath the rock and he gets up…


Several times the waves cover me and I also notice that there are more people coming to the shore with each wave… they are people from other times and places that are being brought to the shore…


It is only fitting that Simon the fisherman, of the time of Jesus, who became Peter or “the Rock,” would be by the seashore of our consciousness. And Jesus was also referred to as “the Rock” by some of the early Christian authors. The “Rock of Ages” refers in the Christian scriptures to the eternally solid presence of Life’s Sacred Spirit and Energy, the ‘Most High!’


Here Peter is helping with the clearing of the Inner State High Way… I can only be thankful for this help of inner guidance and clearing… My tendency is to continue on around the boulder… as well as do a bit of rubber-necking… I could have stopped to help but chose to go on…


As I did, then Peter also went on… and the entire landscape began to shift. We mostly assume things will remain the same until we change them. When in ‘reality’ things are always changing far beyond what we assume or expect. The earth shifts… and before we know it the Wall of the Cold War has been toppled… the Soviet Union is dismantled… The twin symbols of US economic heights collapses… The world is in an endless war… and we continue to destroy our earth home on a daily basis. Could it be that the institutions of religions themselves will crumble as quickly into a new consciousness… a new way of seeing… a new way of being here on earth…


A unitive consciousness that is aware of the oneness of Life.

Simon was called by Jesus to follow, and became Petra… or Simon Peter…He and his brother Andrew left their fishing nets and followed Jesus… Simon Peter became a disciple… and witnessed the Life of Mystery called Jesus… He became a teacher… who became martyred… who became a ‘Saint’ and cornerstone of the largest institutionalized religious movement of the last 2000 years, the Roman Catholic Church…


And this ‘Saint’ has come to help clear the path for a new way to the higher consciousness of Being… In the major shift, the ‘saint’ is flattened by the upheaval and rock-sliding event… and is submerged into the great ocean of the unseen… I am asked to rescue this ‘saint’ from his doom and am somewhat submerged myself… but recall where to go… when I discover the spot, I am given a ‘hand’ in raising the rock off of St. Peter… there is always hope and help if we are willing to get wet and do what we are asked by the universe.


The other night, I was watching an amazing site as I witnessed a TV commentator, who happens to be a ‘Catholic,’ rebuke and suggest that a Catholic Bishop was transgressing by trying to control a legislator… What was remarkable was to see this scene as if I was watching a small boy, raised in the Catholic Church, lash out against the oppressive authority of his youth and spirit… I suppose he may be next on the list of public figures to be chastised by modern day ‘religious leaders.’


As I looked up some info on St. Peter, it is impossible as always to create an accurate picture of the facts of what was so many years ago. Historians always have their own mindset filters through which they present material. Writers and scribes who may have been translating or editing texts and notes would undoubtedly add their own embellishments to give authority and weight to their particular version… Whether Mark was actually Peter’s son or disciple and therefore giving us Simon Peter’s account of the events of early Christian era cannot be substantiated.


So, as St. Peter was resurrected from beneath the ‘rock,’ many others also came to the shore from the ocean’s depths… and what follows is what I can only imagine were some of the words St. Peter shared as he stood on the sandy shore…


“My beloved friends, it is with a great joy in my heart that I stand with you today. It is truly a new day. I am glad for this opportunity to share some new perspectives I have gained over the millennia. In those days, we spoke from our heart and through our culture. We spoke through our ego and did the best we could to preserve something of the mystery we experienced when we walked together with Jesus. He was so, so different than anyone I had ever met. He walked on earth but seemed to always be in a different world than the rest of us. I didn’t understand.


“Now I realize that he walked in the present moment of love. He walked with an acceptance of what is. I was concerned about how women could be equal to men, and obviously I could only see through the traditional and cultural mindset in which I was immersed. I was so concerned during my lifetime about establishing a group that would carry on the teaching of our Savior. And he truly was our Savior, since he was completely true to the Love and Life of the moment, even though it took him to the cross. He saved us from ourselves in a new way. He gave us a new way to see life, even though we didn’t get it half the time. He taught us to forgive ourselves and others and to let go of the past. “He was trying to show us how to walk in Love and the present moment and we were often lost in our own ego needs as to how to do this or if we would be special in some way or what the timeline was. We mostly didn’t realize he was talking about the timeless and eternal present moment … all we could picture was some location in the sky where things would be better… Now I realize that ‘heaven’ and ‘hell’ exist right now as a state of mind…


“The church has served a positive role for the most part in keeping the memory of Jesus alive. When we experienced the ‘sacred spirit’ we saw many miraculous things occur in an instant… The church, no matter by what name it is called, has tried to capture that spirit in teachings and rules. That is simply another ego exercise. The Spirit is always present. It is we who avoid its presence through ego fantasies of specialness, greed, and control games.


“It is enough to turn away from the contents of your ego-mind based on wants and fears… to let go into the present moment… let go of negativity, blame, domination and submission, and future fantasies. Forgiveness was big with Jesus and there is good reason for it… forgive yourself and forgive everyone…even as Jesus did when he cried out from the cross, “Forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” He knew he talked to those who were asleep and unconscious… it was not their fault that they followed the civil and traditional and religious authorities of the day… the collective and personal egos… all based in fear.


“Today you would also would rather follow the authorities of your medical models… your science… your national, political, and religious ideologies… then to open to Life as it is. You have made your ideologies your addictions. You have made your mind and thought-forms your addictions… You have made your emotions based in fantasy and rigid thought-forms your guides. You angrily or subtly shout at one another for being non-rational… which usually means, someone doesn’t agree with your beliefs.


“In the past I have loved you and also wished to preserve our memory of my friend and teacher, Jesus of Nazareth. I am sorry I have not been a better teacher and student. Jesus always was trying to tell us that the ‘Kingdom of God was at hand”… We could only think in terms of days or years… in terms of time. He was actually, as I know now, telling us that the state in which he was living in the moment was already here right then and right now and always. The present moment is always eternal… Life is always eternal and timeless … and we are never separated from Life… except perhaps in our own perceptions. The step from where you are to the Present and Holy Spirit of Now is instantaneous. Simply ask for it and let go of who you thought you were or would be…


“All of Life is Sacred and All is One…

“There is the Holy Presence in ALL…even when forgotten and suppressed…


“Respect all the interconnectedness of Life… without judgment…


“Love is the vehicle of Understanding… Stop and listen to others, to Life, and to the Silence within…


“Share what you know in your heart to be true…


“Hear the guidance, knowing, and wisdom that breaks in from the unknown… and follow the guidance… Listen to the heart of Being… the ‘Most Deep’ and ‘Most High’ within… and from others when it ‘rings true’ for you!


“Now as we gather at various places often unseen to others, let us continue the work as the shift also continues. Many will continue to live in fear. As more of us emerge from the sea of sleep to this new world, there will be many who will react… as Love and Oneness grow, there may also be strange pockets of irrationality and fear-driven behavior. We can see it in extremist ideologies and actions. It is the collective fear-induced sleep and unconsciousness that is controlling many like zombies under a spell. The ego fears it demise… both at personal and collective levels… Once you wake up, we encourage you to stay awake… to return again and again to the moment… even if it means being reborn 34 times each day… the more often we wake… the more we will extend the length of our wakeful moments…


“Each day: Wake up… Let go and Release what is not needed… Tune Up and In… Connect… Task on… in the Moment… Each day...


“Each Night: Tune in and up… See what pops from the day… rejoice, release, forgive, and let go into a restful sleep.

“ …And now to Jesus and to all teachers who show us the way Home to the Eternal Moment, to all our brothers and sisters, and to the Mystery of Spiritual Oneness…Life, we give our heartiest thanks.”
